Protect what matters most with these 5 best security companies in Newcastle, UK

Certifications and licensing: We prioritised security companies that employ SIA-licensed personnel, as this is a legal requirement in the UK.

Industry experience and specialisation: We considered each company’s years of experience and the types of security services they specialise in.

Pricing and value for money: We looked for companies offering competitive hourly rates, typically ranging from £14 to £20 for manned guarding in Newcastle.

Service flexibility and coverage: We focused on companies that offer flexible security solutions, such as manned guarding, alarm response, and CCTV monitoring.

Availability and local presence: We assessed companies based on their 24/7 availability and coverage across Newcastle and the wider North East.

Additional services and technology: We also considered providers that offer value-added services, such as risk assessments or integrated security systems.

We used to think security was only something fancy buildings worried about. Guards at entrances, cameras everywhere, that sort of thing. But looking closer, even small businesses like locksmiths or IT companies need reliable security to protect their operations.

From monitoring systems to trained personnel who know how to respond quickly, a reliable security company in Newcastle, UK, plays a bigger role than we originally thought.

So, instead of guessing which services are actually dependable, we rounded up a list of companies worth considering for anyone looking to keep their property or events properly protected

How much does a security company charge in Newcastle, UK?

Security companies in Newcastle typically charge £14 to £20 per hour for standard manned guarding. Meanwhile, specialised services like event security or mobile patrols can range from £18 to £35 per hour.

Quick Respond Security Ltd is a Newcastle-based firm founded in 2012 and operating across Tyne & Wear, Durham, and Teesside.

The company has around 34 staff members and over 40 years of combined management experience, which helps explain the structured services they provide across the region.

A key technical detail is their SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) accreditation. This confirms their guards are licensed and trained according to Security Industry Authority standards.

They also run a 24-hour control room, which monitors incidents and coordinates patrol teams in real time. This allows alarm activations to be logged quickly and response officers dispatched without delay.

Another strong feature is their mobile patrol and alarm response service across the North East. Officers attend to investigate the site and submit incident reports after every call-out.

However, their services focus entirely on physical protection, so cybersecurity monitoring is not part of their offering.

Pros

  • 14+ years of experience
  • SIA ACS accredited
  • 24-hour control monitoring
  • With alarm response teams

Cons

  • No cybersecurity monitoring services

Courteousness was exemplary

“QRS responded immediately to a site security issue on the same day. They quickly arranged urgent repair work that same day and later organised a more permanent solution. Their responsiveness and courteousness was exemplary.”

Very flexible

“We had a good experience. They were very flexible and able to modify the time they were able to arrive and stay until very late in the day.  They also helped with the moving of some gear at the event. I would recommend them.”

T3 Security has operated since 2008 and is based at Blezard Business Park in Seaton Burn. Its directors bring over 50 years of combined security experience.

They cover door supervision and event security, which already fit most day-to-day security needs. They also offer mobile patrols and key holding, so coverage doesn’t stop after closing hours.

Security staff use body-worn cameras and detection wands during venue checks, which adds a clear layer of accountability. It makes incident recording and crowd control feel more structured, especially in busy settings.

One gap is the lack of temporary equipment rental, such as CCTV towers or perimeter systems. Venues needing short-term setups may have to look elsewhere.

Nonetheless, they seem most effective in the night-time economy, covering pubs and festivals with trained door supervisors. The free consultation is useful too, as it helps map out security needs before committing.

Pros

  • Has body cameras and detection wands
  • Nightlife and crowd control expertise
  • Free security consultation

Cons

  • No temporary security equipment rental

Fantastic experience

“Fantastic experience at Harry’s Newcastle. The door staff really looked after me being left alone having lost my friends. They wouldn’t let me leave with ensuring I was safe in a taxi , they even took it about themselves to order me one as I was so upset being alone . The weather was awful and freezing and they let me stand in the doorway even though it was busy and kept checking in on me. I must say the service by these men was absolutely fantastic, it’s a shame other doormen don’t treat the customers the same way . Well done T3 security and the door staff on Harry’s , thank you so much .”

Very professional and highly recommended

“Excellent company, been with these from the start and helped build the business. Excellent management who I’ve seen go from strength to strength and unlike other fly by night security firms, have striven to achieve SIA accreditation in both door supervision and security. Hence why they are one of the leading firms in the North East for their industry. Very professional and highly recommended giving a high standard of both client and team support.”

Phoenix FMS has operated since 2007 and is headquartered at Gosforth Business Park in Newcastle. Over 17 years in the sector shows in the range of security systems and the scale of sites they cover across the UK.

One standout feature is their 24/7 Remote Video Response Centre (RVRC). This command centre monitors CCTV feeds and dispatches patrol teams when incidents occur.

Security coverage is integrated well. They combine manned guarding and CCTV surveillance, which means one provider can design and monitor the full system.

Their surveillance technology is also more advanced than what most local firms deploy. Examples include thermal cameras detecting movement up to 750 metres and AI motion detection that filters animals or weather triggers.

Construction and event security is another strong area. The company deploys rapid-deployment CCTV towers and solar-powered construction cameras, which can run off-grid and provide live 4K site monitoring.

One limitation is their focus on industrial sectors rather than residential properties. Homeowners looking for simple domestic alarm packages may find fewer options here.

Pros

  • 24/7 Remote Video Response Centre
  • Integrated guards, CCTV, and alarms
  • Has thermal cameras and AI detection
  • Rapid CCTV and solar site cameras

Cons

  • Limited residential security services

Kind and enthusiastic

“I had a quick impromptu tour with Pete Burns of the Durham Cricket Grounds on Sunday, and what a gentleman he was. I was amazed by his kindness and enthusiasm for his job. He’s really a credit to your company,  and if all your staff are this good, you’re doing it all right. Again I’d like to thank Pete again ( from the South African woman )”

Knowledgeable and extremely helpful

“Phoenix Eye have provided security services and CCTV monitoring on our premises for approx three years and the service we have received is second to none. The staff are knowledgeable, extremely helpful and go out of their way to ensure a top quality service. I really could not recommend them highly enough.”

4. Verisure UK

Verisure UK focuses on professionally monitored alarm systems. Their UK operations run from Quorum Business Park in Newcastle, serving homes and small businesses nationwide.

Just a heads up that their system requires a monthly professional monitoring subscription, which increases long-term costs compared with self-monitored alarms.

Even so, their alarm system connects directly to a 24/7 Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) staffed by security professionals. Once sensors activate, operators verify the incident and can coordinate emergency response within around 39–45 seconds.

Their ZeroVision security smoke system stands out too. When an intrusion is confirmed, it releases dense smoke that fills the room within seconds and blocks visibility for burglars.

The system also runs on a fully wireless architecture with 4G backup communication. Even if Wi-Fi or landline connections fail, the alarm signal still reaches the monitoring centre.

Security detection uses shock sensors, motion detectors, and night-vision cameras with real-time video verification. We also found the 190 dB alarm siren extremely loud, which helps scare off intruders and alert nearby neighbours.

Pros

  • 24/7 monitored ARC
  • ZeroVision smoke burglary prevention
  • Has a wireless system with 4G backup
  • 190 dB security siren

Cons

  • Requires a monthly subscription

Very friendly and professional

“Klodian provided an excellent service from start to finish. He was extremely knowledgeable and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. He explained every part of the system in detail, making everything very easy to understand. He was very friendly, professional, and patient in answering all our questions. The work was neat, clear, and well organised. His explanation and approach were so reassuring that anyone would confidently choose this service without a second thought. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended.”

Incredibly knowledgeable

“I recently had my Verisure security system installed and I couldn’t be more impressed with the level of care I received. A huge thank you to Klodi, who provided outstanding customer service from start to finish. He was professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and took the time to ensure everything was set up perfectly. It’s rare to find someone so dedicated to making sure the customer feels safe and informed. Top service!”

Alerts Security has been operating in Newcastle since 1990, giving them more than 30 years of experience installing alarm and CCTV systems.

The company runs as a family-owned provider based in Heddon-on-the-Wall, serving homes and small businesses across the North East.

Their focus is mainly on burglar alarms, including smart systems with remote alerts and outdoor detection sensors. These can pick up movement before entry, which adds an extra layer of protection.

They also install infrared day-and-night CCTV systems with mobile access. The free security survey is a plus, as setups are based on actual entry points and risks rather than fixed packages.

In fact, their wireless security systems and pet-friendly motion sensors are useful for homes with animals. Installation is handled by trained engineers, and they also provide maintenance and alarm upgrades for older systems.

The downside here is that the company focuses on alarm and CCTV installations, so services like on-site guards or mobile patrol security are not their main offering.

Pros

  • 30+ years installing CCTV
  • Smart alarms and sensors
  • Infrared day-night monitoring
  • Systems with pet-friendly sensors

Cons

  • Limited to system installation

Friendly and did a grand job

“I have been using Alerts since 2004 on numerous properties and family have also used Alerts. Les and Tom are brilliant. Never had any problems with the alarms. Yearly service is great too. Recently had a new alarm fitted at my new property by Tom. He was so friendly and did a grand job. Would totally recommend. Thanks so much guys. All the best from Chris 🙂”

Very efficient and always helpful

“I have been with this company for nearly 30 years! I have always had good service from them. Today I upgraded to a wireless system.  Tom and his dad fitted it between them. I now have a key fob to use , so much easier and quicker to use than the old system.  Tom explained everything in great detail.  They are very efficient and always helpful.  Thank you Alerts.”
