The 5 Best Lawn Care Providers in Newcastle for a Beautifully Kept Yard

Treatment Scope: A simple cut won't fix waterlogged soil or a stubborn moss outbreak. We looked at which companies stop at basic mowing and which ones handle deep turf treatments like aeration and scarification.

Customisation: Every garden deals with different shade levels and soil problems, so one-size-fits-all feeds often waste your money. I checked how each team assesses your turf before they quote a plan.

Reliability and Scheduling: Landlords and busy families need a crew that turns up when promised instead of vanishing during the summer rush. Our team checked each provider's operating hours, coverage area, and booking limits.

Property Care Integration: Many homeowners want their borders, hedges, and paving sorted alongside the grass so they only deal with one contractor. I compared what extra outdoor maintenance each company can handle on the same visit.

Quoting Transparency: Nobody wants a surprise bill after the van pulls out of the drive. We looked for teams that measure your yard properly and give clear upfront figures before touching a blade of grass.

We once spent an entire bank holiday weekend fighting moss in our back garden, only for the rain to undo everything by Tuesday. Giving up our free time to push a heavy mower around damp grass gets old fast, especially when weeds still win.

If you’d rather save your back, you need a local crew that shows up on time and treats the root problem. Because picking the wrong team wastes money, we compared local providers, checked their service terms, and verified their treatment plans.

Here are the providers offering the best lawn care in Newcastle, along with who each one suits.

1. Willow Tree and Garden Services

Website: https://willowtreeandgardenservices.co.uk/

Address: Newcastle, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, Northumberland, Tyneside and Durham

Contact: 07564 384645

Hours: Contact to schedule appointment

Willow Tree and Garden Services handles routine garden maintenance alongside bigger jobs like fencing, patios, turfing, and professional tree work. You can get the grass cut and a leaning fence sorted without hiring two separate trades.

On a regular visit, their crew mows the turf to an even finish and trims the borders so the edges look crisp. They also pull weeds from the beds and deadhead perennials, which stops invasive plants from creeping back into your grass.

Moreover, if an overgrown oak is shading out your turf, they can save you from hunting down tree removal services by handling the canopy work themselves.

The catch is that their turf care stops at mowing and edging, so you won’t get chemical feeds or moss treatments here.

Pros

  • Even mowing and crisp border edging
  • Regular border weeding and perennial deadheading
  • Full turfing, patio, and fencing capabilities
  • Straightforward communication from a local team

Cons

  • Lawn care limited to mowing and edging

Customer Reviews

Couldn’t recommend them enough 🙂

Kris and his team did a fabulous job with turfing our paved/overgrown area in our garden. They worked hard all day and were polite and helpful when explaining everything and the lawn looks so good, Kris was also sure to give us loads of tips for caring for the lawn afterwards. Couldn’t recommend them enough 🙂

2. Bloombridge Gardens & Landscapes

bloombridge-gardens-landscapes

Website: https://www.bloombridgegardens.co.uk/

Address: 339 West Road, Fenham

Contact: +447495957813

Hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM | Sunday, 9 AM to 7:30 PM

Bloombridge Gardens & Landscapes focuses on year-round turf health rather than basic grass cutting, tailoring seasonal treatments to your soil. That makes a real difference for homeowners with problem lawns who need proper intervention.

Instead of guessing, they inspect your yard first and hand over a no-obligation quote based on the exact turf size and programme you pick.

When we spoke to them about a back garden, they walked us through how their aeration and scarification work together to clear out dead thatch and let water drain. They also handle overseeding, top dressing, and targeted weed and moss control.

The best part is that they stay open until 7:30 PM seven days a week.

That said, their standard subscription maxes out at four sessions a year. You also have to pay for the higher Bloomcare Pro package if your turf needs disease management.

Pros

  • Tailored seasonal turf programmes
  • Covers aeration, scarification, seeding, and dressing
  • No-obligation quotes based on lawn size
  • Open seven days a week until 7:30 PM

Cons

  • Subscription caps at four sessions per year
  • Disease management locked behind the Bloomcare pro package

Highly recommend

outstanding job on my garden by Adam and team. My lawn had overgrown and needing cutting and my patio needed pressure washing. They did a brilliant job on both and the price was amazing. Highly recommend.

Would definitely recommend and use them again in the future

Let my lawn get overgrown but service received was quick, painless and very good. Got back in touch after I requested a quote quickly and then got back to me with timings for work swiftly as well. Would definitely recommend and use them again in the future!

3. Maxwells Lawn Treatment Services

maxwells-lawn-treatment-services

Website: https://www.maxwellslawntreatments.com/

Address: Low Fell, Gateshead and the North East

Contact: +44 7833 696859

Hours: Monday to Sunday, 9 AM to 5 PM

Maxwells Lawn Treatment Services pairs tailored turf nutrition with year-round mowing for both small residential gardens and larger commercial grounds. Having one team handle both jobs saves you the hassle of coordinating two schedules.

Their fertilisation treatments put key nutrients into tired soil so the grass grows thick enough to crowd out bare spots.

Alongside the feeds, they run targeted weed control to clear out sprouts without scorching the surrounding turf. Then, the team follows this up with regular mowing to keep the property looking sharp for tenants or buyers.

Even so, their treatment plan follows a fixed seasonal calendar, meaning you get less flexibility if a sudden weed flare-up hits out of turn.

Pros

  • Combines routine mowing with turf treatments
  • Nutrient-rich fertilisation for thicker growth
  • Targeted weed elimination
  • Handles both small domestic gardens and commercial grounds

Cons

  • Treatment plans locked to a fixed seasonal schedule

Customer Reviews

I would highly recommend this service 👍🏻

Been using Maxwells for a few years now & the grass looks great. I recently added the lawn treatments & it’s made a huge difference to texture and colour . Been dealing with Rob for a while now and his service is very professional (second to none) he is so knowledgeable about the best treatment for your lawn. I would highly recommend this service 👍🏻

Looking forward to my next lawn treatment visit

Maxwells came to my house when they said they would, examined my lawns and explained what the issues were. They then explained what treatments were required and later sent me a quote which i was happy with.

They reattended and applied a weed spray to certain weed areas in my lawn and then a granular feed.

About 10-12 days later the weeds were gone and the lawn was a better greener colour.

Looking forward to my next lawn treatment visit

GreenThumb Newcastle & Tyneside North brings specialist pest and disease control alongside year-round feed and weed programmes. That level of technical backup is hard to beat when your turf needs serious rescue work.

Customers can add aeration, scarification, overseeding, moss control, and hard surface treatments to address compacted soil, thinning grass, and other lawn care concerns.

We’re also impressed with their online measurement tool, which allows customers to calculate their lawn size without leaving home. This makes it easier to provide accurate measurements and explore suitable treatment options before arranging a service.

Just a heads up: they’re closed all weekend, so early booking within the week is necessary.

Pros

  • Year-round feed and weed programmes
  • Optional aeration, scarification, and hard surface treatments
  • Online tool for measuring lawn size

Cons

  • Closed on weekends

5. KKF Landscaping & Joinery

kkf-landscaping-joinery

Website: https://www.kkf-landscaping-and-joinery.co.uk/

Address: 47 Kirkwood, Burradon, Cramlington

Contact: 01670 468748

Hours: Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM

KKF Landscaping & Joinery brings over 10 years of hands-on experience, tying turf care into full garden overhauls. If you’re comparing landscaping services to sort out rough grass and tired paving at the same time, they bridge that gap well.

Rather than treating the grass in isolation, they shape the turf, borders, sleepers, and block paving so the whole outdoor space fits how your household actually uses it.

For shady or high-traffic yards where real grass refuses to survive, they also lay artificial turf alongside their garden clearance and maintenance work.

That said, they aren’t a dedicated lawn care specialist, so look elsewhere if you want that kind of dedication.

Pros

  • Over 10 years of regional landscaping experience
  • Natural lawn care and artificial grass options
  • Full patio, block paving, and sleeper construction
  • Garden maintenance and clearance available

Cons

  • Deters those that prefer a lawn-care dedicated business
  • Closed on Sundays
