Gosforth Homes really stood out to us when we started our search for a reliable home builder. With over 25 years of experience and a family-run approach, they bring both professionalism and a personal touch that immediately made us feel at ease.
One thing that made a real difference was their use of CAD (Computer-Aided Design). Seeing our new kitchen or bathroom in 3D before any work started helped us feel confident in our decisions and visualise how everything would all come together.
We were also especially impressed with their all-in-one service – from plumbing and plastering to kitchens and extensions, everything is handled under one roof. Their FENSA certification also reassured us that their work meets strict UK standards.
Even smaller details, such as tiling and resin driveways, were executed with care. The tiles added real character to the space. The resin driveway gave our exterior a modern finish that withstands daily use and harsh weather well.
However, we did experience a letdown. They missed a scheduled appointment without any notice or apology. It was disappointing and left us feeling let down regarding the customer service.

What stands out most is their professionalism and consistency. They are all thoroughly vetted and trained. What’s even better? Every project – from structural work to emergency boiler repairs – comes with a minimum 12-month guarantee.
They also specialise in significant structural changes, such as removing load-bearing walls and installing support beams, to create open-plan living spaces. This sets them apart from many general builders in the area.
We appreciate how their process is streamlined throughout. There’s no chasing subcontractors and fewer delays due to miscommunication.
Their quotes are also clear and itemised. We truly appreciate how they are open to adjusting accordingly to the client’s budget. They’re also refreshingly transparent: no shady invoicing, and VAT is clearly stated and properly handled.
While smaller jobs often begin much sooner, large projects may have a lead time of 3-6 months. And although they don’t currently offer financing, they’re actively considering it.
A fantastically skilled and genuinely lovely team
“Neil’s team fitted an upstairs bathroom for us in our little old stone cottage – the original bathroom was an extension on the back of the house and so the pipe work needed to fit upstairs was quite extensive. We are really pleased with the results and especially the care taken by the workmen that came to the house, in both the execution of the work and the care taken to keep our carpets and other furnishings clean and clear throughout – Barry and John get a special shout out as fantastically skilled and genuinely lovely guys. After an issue with the hot water was found, Barry came back out and fixed it as soon as possible, nothing was too much work or too difficult for him, he is a huge asset to the company. We hope to use NMPS in the future for other projects. The only thing I would recommend is asking Neil and team for detailed quotes if any changes from the original are made – this will help with transparency for everyone. The admin team (shout out to Kate) are flexible, super helpful and always make you feel valued. Neil himself is pragmatic and down to earth and it’s clear that people who work for him are happy in their jobs. I’ve enclosed some before and after pictures of the job they did for us.”

“Nathan and team have done an absolutely incredible job on our (now) utility and shower room. Knocking through into an external log store to extend and then completely renovating what was essentially an outhouse exposed to the elements into a fully insulated, bespoke utility and downstairs shower room. This was a pretty big job but nothing fazed them, and the results are truly stunning. They put in the hours to pull out all the stops and will stop at nothing less than perfection with the finish. Extremely punctual and also respected the house, keeping things as clean as possible throughout the house to limit disruption. Nathan is also highly communicative and replies to all messages quickly with solutions or suggestions. His quote was extremely thorough too which helped us to decide and was so well thought through.
