Showed me exactly what to do
Absolutely flawless service from the owner; he was incredibly friendly, showed me exactly what to do, and made the whole experience stress-free. The place itself was spotless, very hygienic, and clearly well looked after. I also loved that there are dedicated machines for pet bedding and clothing, which is such a thoughtful touch.

Would highly recommend.
This place was a lifesaver when my washing machine and dryer both broke. I was looking for a laundrette that you can pay by card as I don’t carry cash around, and an easily accessible location. The staff were very helpful and friendly on both my visits. Machines are very quick and wash really well. They have a coffee machine on site, or you can use one of the many places around while waiting. Would highly recommend.

3. Shine On Community Launderette

Address: 38 Wretham Place
Contact: 0191 261 5234
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5 PM
Shine On Community Launderette gives your washing basket some attention without demanding a starring role in your budget. Its regular wash, dry and fold service costs £10.45, with staff and volunteers handling the chore.
For bigger laundry days, the Wretham Place team accepts everyday clothing and large duvets. Advertised wash sizes cover regular loads up to 6kg and larger loads up to 13kg.
Beyond household socks, local small businesses, clubs and charities can enquire about laundry services.

Basic wash prices also list drying, detergent and folding separately.

Great friendly community launderette.
Great friendly community launderette. Will wash and dry your clothes for a really good price (folding service available too). You can bring your own washing liquid or detergent, which I prefer and this also gets you a small discount.

4. Snazzy’s Dry Cleaning, Laundry & Alterations

Address: Unit 1, Co-op Buildings, Stamfordham Road, Westerhope
Contact: 0191 250 8225
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM; Saturday, 9 AM–2 PM
Snazzy’s has tackled Newcastle’s laundry piles since 1986, giving Westerhope residents somewhere to outsource the spin cycle.
We appreciate how its services cover everyday washing, dry cleaning, curtains, duvets and clothing alterations.
For the weekly basket, wash-dry-fold takes sorting, washing and drying off your hands. The team keeps each customer’s laundry separate, so your socks won’t mingle with someone else’s.
Prefer your shirts wardrobe-ready? You can pay extra for ironing and hanging, while collection and delivery save you a trip to the shop.
Snazzy’s also offers uniform and linen cleaning for cafés, restaurants and holiday lets. That makes it worth considering when your business generates more washing than your home machine can manage.
That said, doorstep collection and delivery require a £20 minimum order. Most wash-dry-fold orders take 2–3 working days too, so don’t leave your last clean shirt’s rescue until the morning you need it.
Customer Reviews

Have used Snazzys for years. They are an excellent business and remain the most competitive company in the North East for dry cleaning, laundry and clothes repairs/alterations. There’s a great team there led by Tony, and the helpful ladies Ede and Agnes are always welcoming. Highly recommend.

5. Stitch & Clean Gosforth

Address: 11 Church Road, Gosforth
Contact: 0191 284 4611
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM; Saturday, 9 AM–2 PM
Stitch & Clean Gosforth can rescue a broken zip and freshen your work suit in one trip. The Church Road shop combines dry cleaning, laundry and pressing with clothing alterations and repairs.
Better still, its collection and delivery van lets you skip the trip altogether. Home customers and businesses can request a collection, with the team confirming availability before you hand anything over.
We like that, for commercial customers, the menu stretches from chef whites to hotel linen and Airbnb bedding.
Also, regular or high-volume clients can request discounted rates, while scheduled collections help keep laundry from taking over the working week.
The weekend con is the clock: Saturday opening ends at 2 PM, and Sundays are off the table. If your weekdays are packed, you’ll need an early Saturday visit or a confirmed collection slot.

The ladies were so friendly and accommodating.
I walked in around 1 pm, with weeks’ worth of vacation laundry stuffed in a bag, and asked if there was any way I could get it back the same day. The ladies were so friendly and accommodating. I returned at 5 pm to a bag of washed, folded, and handled with more care than I had ever given them, clothes.
